Sykes pumps, originally founded in Australia as an expansion of the UK business, became fully Australian-owned in 1992. It had a brief merger with sister company Allight in 2010 before emerging in 2022. Sykes Group Pty Ltd was acquired by Atlas Copco Group in 2023. In some markets Sykes is marketed under the Primax brand name.
