HVUA replaces the mechanical component seals fitted to the stuffing

box chamber in Viking® Universal Line, Internal Gear pumps.

 

The stationary or "Type 3 mating ring" is o-ring mounted and seals directly against the stuffing box. Unlike OEM, an additional slot is provided to the rear (except 2.4375'' size), allowing for anti-rotational pinning to the seal holder (1), allowing for a hard-face seal to be used.

  • Seal Installation

Reposition the existing setting collar

(6) so that that set screws (5) align with the seal access hole (3). Tighten set screws through access hole. Install the access hole pipe plug. Install the washer (4) and the HVUA seal, ensure the polished seal faces are mating. Bolt the seal holder (1) against the pump housing (2).
