HS1 is a single mechanical seal in a semi-cartridge, stationary-based, wave-spring design. It is a direct replacement for pumps fitted with John Crane Safematic® Safeseal Type JCS1. Seal faces are lubricated by the pumped product.
It is suitable for Sulzer AHLSTAR pumps fitted with integrated seal chambers (MS11, MS12 & MS21). It allows seal replacement via the impeller-end and bolt fastening through the backplate.

INSTALLATION & OPERATION
Operation:
The sliding faces get their lubrication from the pumped product. Do not run the seal dry.
Installation:
1. From the impeller-side, slide the stationary assembly (parts G - M) into the end of the seal chamber.
2. Rotate the stationary assembly until the bolt (3) is able to be fastened.
3. Install the rotary and spacer sleeve assembly (parts A - F) and tighten with the impeller (4).
4. Ensure all flush ports (2) are plugged prior to pump operation.
