HR5 is a conical spring-driven mechanical seal for metric shafts, based on the industry standard "Type 5" design. It is commonly found in heavy-duty pumps of Italian origin.

 

The spring provides both axial and rotational force being tightly wound in the direction of the rotating shaft.  Left or right-hand winding springs must be specified.

 

A optional shorter "5H2" spring is available to match working length of HR2, useful when interchanging seals.

 

An optional "R.C.L." seat is available with an extended tail and anti-rotation pin slot.
