H740 is an externally mounted multi-spring seal. It is designed for use in aggressive chemical applications, such that no process fluid is in contact with metal parts.

 

The rotary is designed with set screws, rather than clamped. It can be run against different pump-specific seats, but as standard can replace the Chesterton "L-shape" seats. It is lapped on both sides and can be mounted either "Nose-In" or "Nose-Out" for use with Chesterton 478 gland plates.

Setting clips are provided to set the correct compression length prior to tightening of the set screws. Remove setting clips once set screws tighten the rotary onto the shaft
