H21 is a DIN EN 12756–compliant  mechanical seal for metric shafts, based on the industry standard "Type 21" design. It is widely used for its low cost / high efficiency ratio.

 

A rubber diaphragm is secured to the shaft with a drive band, which serves as both a secondary seal and positive torque element.

 

Mechanical compression on the spring-cap is typically delivered by a shoulder in the shaft / sleeve, threaded impeller or setting collar (available separately)
