H1US is a mechanical seal for imperial shafts, based on the historical industry "Type 1" design. It's narrower profile and longer working length suited narrower stuffing boxes originally for gland packing.

 

A rubber diaphragm is secured to the

shaft with a drive band, which serves

as both a secondary seal and positive

torque transmission.

 

Mechanical compression on the

spring-cap is typically delivered by a

shoulder in the shaft / sleeve or setting collar (available separately)
