H1UK is a mechanical seal for imperial shafts, based on the historical industry "Type 1A" design. It uses the same components as H1US, but an added spacer to the back of the rotary retainer achieves the longer working length.

 

A rubber diaphragm is secured to the shaft with a drive band, which serves as both a secondary seal and positive torque transmission.

 

Mechanical compression on the spring is typically delivered by a shoulder in the shaft / sleeve or setting collar (available separately).
