A mechanical cartridge seal is a self-contained sealing unit that includes all necessary components such as the seal faces, springs and gland plate in a per-assembled cartridge design for easy installation. Compared to a basic component seal, which requires precise alignment and assembly on-site, a cartridge seal simplifies installation and reduces the risk of installation errors.
